The Annie E. Casey Foundation
The Annie E. Casey Foundation fosters public policies, human-service reforms, and community supports that more effectively meet the needs of today’s vulnerable children and families. . In 1993, the foundation established the Journalism Center on Children & Families, formerly known as the Casey Journalism Center and for 20 years sponsored annual Casey Medals for Meritorious Journalism honoring distinguished reporting on disadvantaged children and families
America’s Promise Alliance
Founded in 1997 with General Colin Powell as Chairman, and chaired today by Alma Powell, America’s Promise Alliance is a cross-sector partnership of more than 400 corporations, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and advocacy groups that are passionate about improving lives and changing outcomes for children. Their work involves raising awareness, encouraging action and engaging in advocacy to provide children the key supports they call the Five Promises: Caring Adults, Safe Places, A Healthy Start, An Effective Education and Opportunities to Help Others. The Journalism Center joined America's Promise Alliance in 2009.
Foundation For Child Development
The Foundation for Child Development is a national, private philanthropy dedicated to the principle that all families shoud have the social and material resources to raise their children to be healthy, educated and productive members of their communities. FCD seeks to understand children, particularly the disadvantaged, and to promote their well-being. FCD supported JCCF's efforts to expand information resources related to New American Children.
